Our Toddler Room is a relaxed, fun room for the children to enjoy and develop early friendships.

Within our Toddler Room there are designated areas for free play, role play, messy play, quiet time, meal times and nappy changing. The room also has a large en suite bathroom with low level sinks and toilets to aid potty and toilet training.

A little more structure is introduced in the Toddler Room. Children are encouraged to take part in carefully planned activities, allowing them to develop individual areas of learning, helping to promote sharing, socialising and - most importantly - having fun.

There is always time for child-initiated activities. As children show interest they are encouraged to develop their confidence and who knows where it may lead?

Outdoor play - utilising the nursery’s fully enclosed, all-weather surface garden area - is also a part of every child’s session.

Pre-school
Age 3-4

Our Pre-School Room caters for the important needs of the children with regard to the preparation and the transition to school life.

We recognise that each child has individual needs and their own pace of learning. Our staff are highly qualified and attend regular training to ensure that they follow and teach the Early Years foundation stage curriculum. Learning is developed through planned and structured activities both adult-led and child-initiated.

We also encourage flexibility and fun within the Pre-School Room as we recognise children learn through play. Our aim is to inspire awe and wonder to encourage our children to begin to love to learn, starting them on their education journey with strong foundations.

The Great Outdoors

Children love to discover and in our outdoor area there is plenty of opportunity.

Our large and fully enclosed outdoor space comprises of different areas for investigation, stimulation, adventure and play. A generous proportion of the garden benefits from an all-weather surface which allows the children to get outdoors every day. In addition to our all-weather play areas there is a secret garden - complete with story shed housing a variety of natural resources - and, at one end, the garden is flanked by our tiered sensory area which all combine in offering the children a whole host of awe inspiring and wonderful things…

We have homes for insects and bugs amongst the planting tubs where seasonal planting takes place and the children learn how things grow and get excited in anticipation of the harvesting and sampling of our produce. Mud kitchens are a firm favourite for mixing, experimenting and fuelling young imaginations. And then there’s our Forest School base camp where the children can come together and learn more about the great outdoors.

Away from the nursery, the children get the opportunity to venture further with walks in and around the local area. which includes soaking up the incredible grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle.

Visits to the park are always popular and the children are always closely supervised and watched over to ensure their safety at all times.
