Safeguarding and Inclusion

At Grimsthorpe Day Nursery, the safety, well being, and happiness of every child are our highest priorities. We are fully committed to providing a nurturing, secure, and inclusive environment where all children can learn, explore, and thrive.

Safeguarding Children

We have robust safeguarding procedures in place to protect children from harm.

-
All staff receive regular safeguarding and child protection training in line with UK statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and local safeguarding partnership procedures.
-
We follow safer recruitment practices, ensuring all staff and volunteers undergo enhanced DBS checks.
-
Any concerns regarding a child’s welfare are taken seriously and responded to promptly by our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) team.
-
We work closely with families and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.

Promoting Inclusion and Equality

We celebrate diversity and welcome all children and families, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance.

-
Our nursery provides equal opportunities for every child to participate fully in all aspects of nursery life.
-
We are committed to removing barriers to learning and ensuring our environment is accessible to all.
-
Our curriculum and daily practice promote respect, kindness, and understanding of different cultures, identities, and individual needs.
-
We work in partnership with parents and carers to support children with additional needs, following the principles of the SEND Code of Practice (2015).

A Safe, Respectful, and Supportive Community

We believe safeguarding and inclusion are everyone’s responsibility. By working together with families, staff, and the wider community, we create a safe, supportive, and welcoming nursery where every child feels valued, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.
